Mirvana is a species native to Southeast Asia that is being imported as a less costly
alternative to mahogany. It is lighter in color and much less dense, but has similar texture and grain patterns.
It has been used successfully for restaurant tables and in other interior applications. It is the least expensive hardwood
manufactured by Perfect Plank.
As with other species, pieces of 8" to 18" lumber are finger-jointed to create strips of the desired length. Then these strips
(usually 1.4" thick) are glued face-to-face to create the final plank. One face is of furniture quality, sanded with
120 grit paper. Reverse side may contain defects and is sanded with 80 grit paper.
